HFF is probably the fastest way to farm to leg survivor, because by the time you get there you'll probably only need to get about 700-800k experience, which should relatively easily happen in about 6hrs.
(60x2000=120000xp/hr) Therefore leg surv in less than 15hrs (time to get there + time to do it)

Legendary Survivor in Fronis Irontoe's Lair.
With Scrolls of the Lightbringer, tripple experience.
In Hard Mode this comes to about 43000 experience per run.
Every run takes approximately 10 minutes. Less if you play a non-caster and so don't get Dazed.
Therefore 258,000 xp per hour.
Assuming we start counting time at level 20 (hard mode begins here). 1337500-140600=1196900
1196900/258,000=4.63
So 4.6 hours to reach Legendary Survivor.
Plus time to reach Fronis Irontoe's Lair and Level 20. Scrolls pay for themselves with the runs. ID and sell everything.

I'll deffinately have to test that in RA!
I got my Rank 1 and am still on 0 deaths ^^
I found Punchout a bit too hard on HM and got 60 energy about halfway through so I mapped out. I'll try get to R2 on NM and get really used to it, then try HM.
Took a screenie:
Still a long way to go. Ive already spent too much money on this char to mess up now. If I go wrong I'll cry.

Stick to NM Punch-out if you're worried about dying. It doesn't take that much longer than HM. What's a few hours in the relative scheme of things...

Also do deaths in PVP count or can I safely farm Zaishen?
I havnt made any progress on my factions titles yet, so cant use factions PVE skills.
Numa this is a PVE mesmer not a PVP. I dont think the AI mobs prioritise attacking mesmers first. I used to play mesmer plenty in HA and GVG, and still do in arenas, hence why I wanted a PVE one.

Why would thier ever be any risk of dying via Zaishen

Saying that you can spec for melee and casting is really a mute point. I've just started a Survivor mesmer in Prophecies (I like the faces better :P), and it is my first one, but already I am enjoying it hugely, along with the rit and necro it is my favorite class atm.
But back to what I was saying, the way I see it is that you can spec your bar for a melee damage (empathy, etc.) and bring a skill or two to shut down casters, forcing them to melee. I know it probably wouldn't work in the higher level areas, but I'm having fun with it right now.
